Apr -3rd - 2012 - Bud's Report - Went ot this afternoon the ride out was not to bad as far as waves go and we started fishing in 155' and trolled west and caught a coho on 2 color with a red Thinfish. We marked fish from 60 and up. Then the wind came up and made it tuff to go where I wanted. So I turned at 190' and headed to shore and picked up 4 more before I had to quit. Two came on white spinny and fly down 75' on riggers so we ended up going 5 for 6. I think the fish are moving in best depth was around 160' feet of water.
Mar -31st - 2012 - Bud's Report - Limit catches of salmon are being reported all along the Lake Michigan coast. The best depths out of Holland and Port Sheldon are 180' to 240' from the surface down to 200' it is a summer program out there, trollers are using spinneys & flies combinations and large paddles, spoons and plugs. My crew and I were out this afternoon and took 9 coho and 1 - 14lb.king and we also missed a couple, all the coho were full of moths, the king had 5 or 6 alewives, I think if you are looking to catch salmon you better get out there.
